Barclays and Hawaiian Airlines Introduce Two Free Checked Bags Benefit

Eligibility for Extra Baggage

Wilmington, DE–Barclays US Consumer Bank and Hawaiian Airlines announced in a press release that primary cardholders of their “Hawaiian Airlines World Elite Mastercard’” are eligible to carry two extra free checked bags. 

“As we’ve seen a healthy return to travel and prepare to enter the busy holiday travel and shopping season, we are excited to reward our Hawaiian Airlines cardmembers with two free checked bags,” said Bryan Kapeckas, Managing Director, Loyalty & Travel Products, Hawaiian Airlines, in the press release. “This enhanced benefit is another way of saying thank you to our cardmembers for their loyalty.”

According to the release, the offer is valid for travel between North America, Hawaii, and the neighboring Hawaiian Islands. Another feature of the credit card is that there isn’t a limit to the total miles one can earn. New card members can earn a 60,000 bonus HawaiianMiles after spending $2,000 on purchases in the first 90 days. HawaiianMiles never expire, giving travelers the flexibility to book travel.

Hawaiian Airlines passengers are entitled to check in 2 pieces of luggage. This added benefit would allow them to carry four pieces of check-in luggage.

Membership Benefits

Hawaiian Airlines also offers membership schemes that give holders various benefits, including extra luggage. The Hawaiian Airlines ‘Pualani Platinum’ membership allows three additional luggage check-in items, and the ‘Pualani Gold’ membership allows two.

Hawaiian Airlines is Hawaii’s oldest operating airline company. They have 260 daily flights, all of which either depart from or arrive in Hawaii.
