Holiday Station Celebrations in Durango

Durango, CO–Visit Durango, the official destination marketing organization of Durango, a small mountainous town in southwestern Colorado, announced in a news release the dates and itinerary for the town’s first annual Holiday Station Celebrations.

The winter celebrations are scheduled to kick off this Friday (November 25) with the ‘Singing with Santa’ festival, followed by various events, and finishes with a New Year’s Eve party at the town’s Purgatory Resort.

Some of the other events planned during the month include music concerts, an arts and crafts festival (47th annual Holiday Arts and Crafts Festival), cooking/baking exhibitions, a mountain biking fest, Christmas-themed music and campfire nights, and even an adult-themed holiday drag show (view full events details here).

Uniting Cultures and Businesses

“The first Holiday Station celebration is meant to lend a helping hand to businesses and organizations that want to host holiday events and have a strong turnout by creating a ‘united front’ to showcase local goings-on and the mixture of various cultures in Durango,” said Rachel Welsh, spokeswoman for Visit Durango in an interview with a news local news agency.

The town is also a hub for adventure enthusiasts, home to some of the country’s best mountain biking, kayaking and skiing trails. Purgatory Resort, Durango, a hotspot for mountain biking during the summer, has been featured more than 10 times in SKI Magazine for having the best “Ski Weather in America.”
