Walmart has partnered with Expedia Group to introduce a new benefit for its Walmart+ members, giving them the ability to earn Walmart Cash through travel bookings. This collaboration allows members to gain 5% Walmart Cash on hotel bookings, vacation rentals, car rentals, and activities and 2% on all flight bookings.

According to a release published by Walmart, the travel booking service will be powered by Expedia Group’s White Label Template technology. Walmart+ members will have access to over 900,000 properties, 500+ airlines, 100+ car rental companies, and thousands of activities worldwide through WalmartPlusTravel.com.
How the New Benefit Works
The release noted that the new benefit is designed to be user-friendly. Walmart+ members can access travel services through their member benefits hub in the Walmart app or WalmartPlusTravel.com.
Once a booking is confirmed, the earned Walmart Cash will appear in the member’s Walmart wallet and become available 30 days after the travel is completed.
Customer Service for Travel Needs
Expedia Group will provide top-tier, end-to-end customer service, handling all travel needs for Walmart+ members. This includes access to live agents and self-serve capabilities, like the A.I.-powered Virtual Agent tool, to answer queries or make booking changes.
Evolution of Walmart Rewards to Walmart Cash
Walmart has recently evolved Walmart Rewards into Walmart Cash, offering the same program under a new name with the added ability to cash out in stores. Some components of Walmart Cash will be expanded to all customers over time, while some features, like the travel benefits, will remain exclusive to Walmart+ members.
